Leavitt Group knows the importance of feeling stable and secure. It’s why Utah Food Bank’s mission resonates with them. Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank is dedicated to fighting hunger statewide. Currently, 415,000 Utahns—about 1 in 11 individuals—face the risk of hunger, and 1 in 6 Utah children are uncertain about their next meal. Utah Food Bank distributed 65.5 million pounds of food last year to help meet this pressing need.

For years, Leavitt Group has been dedicated to addressing food insecurity, particularly for children who rely on school food programs. Recognizing the pressing need in local schools, they proudly sponsor Utah Food Bank’s Mobile School Pantry program at Three Peaks Elementary and East Elementary schools in Enoch and Cedar City. This initiative provides essential food support that supplements daily breakfast and lunch offerings, ensuring that children and their families receive the nourishment they need. The company also gives an annual monetary donation and provides 6-8 volunteers each month at an elementary school to distribute food bags.

“Each month, we see the smiles on kids’ faces when they walk away with food that will sustain them and their families. These humbling experiences reinforce the vital role of the mobile school pantry in providing not just food, but hope and emotional relief for families,” said Melanie Johnson, chief marketing officer, Leavitt Group.

Joe Callister, Leavitt Group’s chief operating officer, added, “This hands-on involvement not only enriches our team’s experience but also deepens our connection with the community. We love helping these kids and their families.”

Winning a $10,000 Make More Happen Award would significantly enhance Utah Food Bank’s efforts, enabling them to open additional pantry services in more schools and improve nutritional offerings with fresh produce and healthy snacks, which are crucial for child development. Vote for Leavitt Group and help them continue this crucial fight against hunger in Utah!
