What is Make More Happen™?
Consumers want more than just insurance from their independent agent. They want to know they’re doing business with a company that cares. And as their local field reps, you know that independent agents care.
Liberty Mutual’s Make More Happen Awards recognize independent agents who give back to their communities, by awarding their nominated nonprofit with a donation of up to $10,000 on the agency’s behalf and free PR services to spread the good news and build trust within their community.
The 2025 plan
Awards every month! Agents can apply from December to September, and four or five winners will be announced each month for a Make More Happen Award. The Agent Giving team will onboard the winning teams the month prior to their feature story to prepare their campaign materials, marketing toolkit and press releases. Agents should have their full application completed by the 15th of the month to be considered for an award 1.5 months ahead.
Easy to apply, easy to vote: Agents need to check that their nonprofit is eligible, provide a few quick details, and upload 3 high-quality photos to apply. One hour of time could yield a $10,000 impact. If selected as a finalist, voting is a simple click, making it easier for everyone to show their support. Now participants can focus more on creative marketing to promote their nonprofit and less time explaining how to vote.
Show the value to agents! You’ll find a new home for the outstanding local media coverage our Make More Happen Award winners receive, which you can use to celebrate your region’s generosity and encourage other independent agents to get involved.

You and the agency have some work to do before they apply for a Make More Happen Award—but it’s easy to get started. Even small efforts count toward showing the public the agency gives back.
Provide these agents with the Community Giving Guide and talk them through those first few pages which explain why it’s so important to be a business that gives back.
